Live Steam Models

www.shrinkingman.co.uk

I enjoy metalwork, attending a night school class. It is here that I am building up model engineering skills. My chosen scale is 16mm = 1 foot on 32mm gauge track. Commonly known as SM32. One day I will build a garden layout. In the meantime I run stock on friends lines, or on a length of track plonked down on the patio.

I have three live steam locomotives in various stages of construction. Further details available by following the links on the left

Oban

Oban Locomotive Oban is a simple live steam locomotive based on Mamod components. This was my first attempt. Though she runs, I doubt I will ever finish her because there are too many fundamental design faults.

Tintagel

Tintagel Locomotive Tintagel is a Mamod steam locomotive which I have modified, including building a tender and adding radio control.

Cardhu.

Cardhu is the live steam locomotive I am currently building. Designed loosely in the style of a 'De Winton'.
